The Wade Hampton Frost collection includes personal and official correspondence, photographs, scientific publications, newsclippings, family histories, and cassettes, all concerning the professional and personal life of Dr. Wade Hampton Frost and his family. Also included are research notes of Susan Frost Parrish, Dr. Frost's daugher, who collected information on her father and the rest of her family and donated her findings to the Health Sciences Library. Dr. Frost (1880-1938), a medical alumnus of the University of Virginia (1903), a surgeon with the United States Public Health Service (1905-1929), and a professor of epidemiology at Johns Hopkins (1919-1938), conducted important research in water pollution, poliomyelitis, yellow fever, influenza, diphtheria, and tuberculosis.
